the caracteristic of narative, descriptive, and expository text

I. NARATIVE TEXT

definition of naratif text

narative text is kind of text to retell the story that happen in the past, it gives either a factual or fictional story.

soscial function 

to entertain, to gain and hold a reader's interest

generic structure 

1. orientation: introducing the participants and informing the time and place in the story.
2.complication: describing the rising crisies which the participants have to do with or among participants relationship in a process of social interaction.
3. resolution: showing the way of participants to solve the crisies better or wors.
4. coda:which sumarrizes the point of the story or moral massage we may get.

language form

1. ussing process verb: tell, says, narrates etc.
2. ussing temporal conjuction: chronological order
3. using simple past tense


II. DESCRIPTIVE TEXT



The Definition of Descriptive Text 

Descriptive text is a text which says what a person or a thing is like.

Purpose of Descriptive Text 

Its purpose is to describe and reveal a particular person, place, or thing.

The Generic Structure of Descriptive Text

Descriptive text has structure as below:
  • Identification; identifying the phenomenon to be described.
  • Description; describing the phenomenon in parts, qualities, or/and characteristics.

The Language Feature of Descriptive Text

  • Using attributive and identifying process.
  • Using adjective and classifiers in nominal group.
  • Using simple present tense

 

III. The Definition of expository Text
Exposition is a type of oral or written discourse that is used to explain, describe, give information or inform. The creator of an expository text can not assume that the reader or listener has prior knowledge or prior understanding of the topic that is being discussed. 

The puspose of expository text
To inform the reader of an event or provide general information

Generic structure
1.      Topic sentece
2.      Supporting sentence
3.      Concluding sentence

Language form
1.      Using process verb
2.      Using indevinite transition
3.      Using question word mark
4.      Using present tense either verbal or nominal
